Although Original Medicare covers the majority of your medical expenses, it doesn't cover everything. Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap) fill in the coverage gaps to help you pay out-of-pocket costs that aren't covered by Medicare, including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance.
Medigap plans are available in all 50 states and vary in premiums and enrollment eligibility state-by-state. Although Medigap plans are standardized, all standardized plans may not be available in your area. Most times, Medigap coverage doesn't have network limitations and is available anywhere Medicare is accepted. Our licensed agents can help you choose a Medigap plan that fits your budget, lifestyle, and healthcare needs.
Plan A has the most basic offerings of all the Medigap plans, but will still cover the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay for outpatient services.
Plan B covers all that Plan A covers, but it also pays for the Part A hospital deductible.
Known as one of the most comprehensive supplements, Plan C covers both your deductibles and the 20% you'd typically pay toward your outpatient expenses.
Although Plan F isn't available to new Medicare enrollees who become eligible after January 1, 2020, the plan covers all items that you'd usually pay for out-of-pocket.
Since new applicants can no longer purchase Plan F, Plan G is similar to Plan F in that it will cover almost everything except the Part B deductible and premiums are often very competitive.
In exchange for lower premiums, you'll pay your Part B deductible, excess charges, and some copays for doctor and emergency visits with Plan N.
